Ok so today 21 07 officers from the Mackenzie Kenzie Police Department were dispatched to *** shots fired in the 1600 block of South 50th. Upon arrival. Contact was made with the home owners who stated they were hosting a *** party, approximately 70 to 100 middle aged students. Um, some individuals were at the party, the party, the party was invite only via social media. Uh, some individuals unknown to the homeowners have come. The homeowners asked them to leave as they were leaving. Uh, they started shooting into the house, randomly, uh, in the process right now, we believe 5 to 7 um, individuals were shot. Um, one was confirmed deceased, the one that’s dead is *** part of the 5-7 shot. Yes. Yes Yes. what time do you say Eight hours? Nine. Well, um, we were dispatched at *** shortly after nine. So I would assume those parties happened before these other injuries. Are they critical or right now, as I said, we, we were looking between five and seven, um, as we said, one of the victims is dead, um two, we have information that they are in critical condition and then we believe that they are another four, uh, at this time, uh, we haven’t received an update, but we believe there are four more in the area

Police in Kansas City, Kansas, say eight people were shot, one fatally, at a party on Halloween night near 50th Street and Elmwood Avenue. The shooting was reported at 9:07 p.m. Police Chief Karl Oakman said the party was by invitation only. home in the 1600 block of South 50th Street when unknown persons appeared at the home. Oakman said when they were asked to leave, the suspects began shooting into the home as they left. He said there were 70 to 100 people at the party, many of whom were high school aged. “This is very unfortunate. The community needs to stop. There are too many guns. This was a party with high school students. Like I said, everyone now has weapons. We have to be smarter than this,” Oakman said. Police said at least two of the injured were in critical condition. No arrests have been made.” It’s disturbing. It’s unacceptable how many people are out here with guns. No matter what the situation is, we have to figure out how to manage our anger. Shooting people, taking people’s lives is not the answer. I mean, it’s just ridiculous.
