Kansas City Chiefs trade rumors

As the Kansas City Chiefs are strong title contenders in 2022-23, they may believe that bringing in one or two more key players will help them win the Super Bowl.

Before the trade deadline, the Kansas City Chiefs are expected to sign and release CJ Spiller, according to a source

The Chiefs are first in the AFC West and second in the entire AFC, behind the Buffalo Bills. Patrick Mahomes and his team are undoubtedly a strong unit with a good chance to make the postseason.

Still, their loss to the Buffalo Bills in Week 6 showed that at least one club in the conference is still marginally better. Here is a list of players the Chiefs have been linked with as they look to bolster their squad.

#1 – Odell Beckham Jr.

Odell Beckham Jr. he is still available and was recently linked to the Chiefs. OBJ hopes to return in November after tearing his ACL in Super Bowl 56. Rumor has it that OBJ will sign a contract sometime after the trade deadline.

According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler and Matt Bowden, the Chiefs were reportedly hoping to recruit a wide receiver and “would welcome one more outside threat.” However, the organization’s lack of cap space suggests that “money is an issue” that could prevent the Chiefs from signing OBJ. Everything has changed since Travis Kelce’s deal was restructured.

After suffering a major injury, OBJ will be hoping to quickly fill a key position on a title contending team like he did last year with the Rams and prove his worth for a multi-year deal.

JuJu Smith-Schuster would have it even easier with a dynamic duo like Kelce and OBJ, while Skyy Moore, the team’s best runner, would have more opportunities.

#2 – Cam Akers

A veteran like Akers could give the team support in the backfield in the later games of the campaign when the competition is tough. They could also strengthen their backfield strategy.

Cam Akers, you ARE the Chief of Kansas City

Akers won the Super Bowl with the Rams last season. However, he only had 1.6 yards per carry in Super Bowl LVI and averaged 3.48 yards per carry for his career.

Cameron Jordan played for the Saints his entire professional career. Unfortunately, the 33-year-old veteran was lost to a faltering Saints defensive unit. Despite 4.5 sacks and 15 pressures through seven games, Jordan still has the second-lowest scoring defense in the NFL this season.

The Chiefs need pass rush help. The contract situation for Jordan is particularly difficult due to the ongoing cap issues in New Orleans.

If Cameron Jordan is realistically available, I think that’s the guy I’d rather get before the deadline. He’s not young, but he has a manageable cap situation and is under contract for two more seasons.

Jordan has at least 12 sacks in five of the last six seasons, making him a reliable asset.

There will be a lot of talk this week about potential deals involving the Chicago Bears. With a tough schedule ahead, the team record is 2-4. However, as the deadline approaches, the Bears will likely trade assets for draft picks.

When asked about the trade deadline and the status of RB David Montgomery — given that Montgomery is out of contract after this season — #Bears GM Ryan Poles called Montgomery “one of my favorite players on the team.”

David Montgomery was added to the list of potential trade assets earlier in the week. According to ESPN reporter Jeremy Fowler, the Kansas City Chiefs are reportedly looking for help on both sides of the ball.

In his NFL career, Montgomery has 3,116 rushing yards for a 3.9 rushing yard average. He has 23 rushing yards, 131 receptions, 1,037 receiving yards and 3 receiving touchdowns.

Despite the Chiefs’ excellent offensive performances, their rushing game has never been their strongest attribute. However, Montgomery could improve Kansas City and make the team more rounded and scary with his dual-threat qualities.
