Mississippi Episcopal Bishop Brian Seage is leaving for California

The Episcopal bishop of Mississippi, who recently led the diocese through the COVID-19 pandemic and the water crisis in Jackson, will leave the state once a replacement is chosen.

Brian Seage, the 10th bishop of the diocese, was elected in 2014 and succeeded Bishop Duncan Gray in 2015, following Gray’s retirement.

This step comes at a time when the Episcopal Church of St. Philip’s in Northeast Jackson announced that Kyle Seage, also an Episcopal priest and the bishop’s wife, has accepted the position of rector of St. Stephen’s in Belvedere, CA. She was rector of St. Phillip’s 12 years. Brian Seage said his family wasn’t looking to move, but when they saw the St. Stephen’s, they felt they had to apply.
