“Landscape of Light” in the Arboretum

Lightscape transforms the Arboretum into a dazzling wonderland. The event will include installations, illuminated paths and even a winter cathedral. Lightscape and The Arboretum have their own entrance fees. Entry to the Lightscape begins at 5:30pm and once inside, visitors can stay as long as they wish. The self-guided walk takes about 90 minutes and is just over a mile long. This event is wheelchair and stroller accessible.

LA Zoo Lights: Animals Shine

Animals Aglow is an immersive landscape covered in lantern sculptures of animals, amidst blooming flowers and a mystical forest. This wild wonderland will feature a 60 to 90 minute self-guided walk and plenty of photo ops. Hot chocolate and lots of festive treats are also available for purchase. Manual and electric wheelchairs and buggies will be available for hire on a first-come, first-served basis.

Enchanted Forest of Light

Inside Descanso Gardens is a new world of bright wonder. This interactive experience features a one-mile walk through vibrant light displays. Tom Fruin’s “stained glass” village in the rose garden, HYBYCOZO’s geometric displays on the main lawn, flower power on the promenade and ancient forest lighting effects are some of the returning favourites. Guests are advised to wear warm clothing and comfortable walking shoes. This experience is accessible for pushchairs, wheelchairs and mobility aids.

Holiday light festival

Just after Thanksgiving, Griffith Park & ​​Southern Railroad transforms into the Holiday Light Festival, featuring mystical scenery and festive lights. Guests can ride the train, which takes about 10 minutes, enjoy a photo booth and a gift kiosk.

Holiday Road

Old Pasadena

In historic Old Pasadena, it’s easy to get into the holiday spirit and support local merchants. The area is illuminated with fairy lights and festive projections illuminating the outdoor courtyard and the streets of Staré Pas. There’s everything from family-friendly restaurants to plenty of local shops, perfect for holiday family shopping. Although holiday celebrations continue through January 2, the Saturday right after Thanksgiving and Black Friday, Old Pas celebrates “Small Business Saturday” with giveaways, events and specials at local stores.

‘Wildlights’ in Living Desert

Wildlights provides guests with festive, illuminated journeys. It also features photo opportunities, a carousel, pictures with Santa, themed treats and more. The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens will illuminate more than 80 of its 1,200 acres with one million holiday lights. This year’s magical show will take guests on a brand new adventure along illuminating trails that will provide stunning new perspectives on animal habitats. In addition, various parts of the zoo will feature light shows set to music, as well as a G-scale holiday model train with more than 3,300 feet of track.

Santa’s Speedway

The Irwindale Speedway will be transformed into a light show for people of all ages to enjoy. Visitors can enjoy in-car and out-of-car experiences, such as driving a NASCAR track and enjoying brightly lit displays and an 11-story Christmas tree. They’ll even have a Christmas village with reindeer stalls, food and drink and plenty of selfie spots. Guests can also take a picture with Santa, for the perfect Christmas memory.

Holiday Boat Parade

Marina del Rey will host their 60th annual Holiday Boat Parade. This event will include live music, fireworks and more. This winter tradition will include a presentation of shiny boats, lit up in different colors. People of all ages are welcome to the show.
